trackunknownblog: Toro y Moi last night was a good show.  I have to say I was a little disappointed in the sound quality and I found myself straining to even hear Chaz Bundick’s ethereal voice.  I may have built it up in my head too much - I had high expectations after listening to the new album, Anything in Return, (it didn’t leave my turn table since it’s release date in January).  Maybe this is just the Nashville pretentious hipster in me, but the quality of the musicianship communicated through the vinyl was not translated through the stage last night.  However, I predict that over the summer as Toro tours around the festival circuit, that is where the amazing sound from the album will come out and show it’s true colors.
